I have received an email this morning. At first I thought it is another one of those ‘I like your website, but I can help you…’ kind of emails, but for some inexplicable reason I have read this one. It was written by someone called Jason. I don’t know who this guy is or what made him email me, but somehow he really caught me on a day of contemplation.

I am so thrilled about how Just be a Child has grown, especially in the last 3-4 years. We have more books than ever, more wonderful volunteers, more communities and more partners which we supply with books. But our income is pretty much the same as ever and that is not saying much. And I am constantly questioning how or perhaps whether I am good enough to continue. Strong enough to fight for every penny. So reading Jason’s email, which asked for nothing at all, was really sweet and really timely. Thank you Jason.

Here is what Jason wrote:

‘Dear Just Be A Child,

I hope this message finds you in good spirits and with a renewed sense of purpose. As someone who deeply appreciates the incredible work that NGOs like yours do every day, I want to encourage you to continue making a positive difference in the world.

I know that the challenges you face can sometimes seem overwhelming, but please remember that every small step you take towards your goals is an important one. Your hard work and dedication are truly making a difference in the lives of the people and communities you serve.

It’s often easy to feel discouraged when the problems we face seem so daunting, but I believe that your organization has the ability to make a real impact. Your tireless efforts are helping to build a better future for all of us, and that is truly something to be proud of.

So please, keep pushing forward and know that your work is appreciated and valued. You are making a real difference, and I have no doubt that you will continue to do so for many years to come.

Thank you for everything you do.’
