Like every talent, creative writing has to be nurtured and we quickly realised that Kenyan children seldom have the opportunity or the reason to write stories. It definitely needed changing. And we knew how.

Our annual Young Writer Competitions keep evolving to reflect the numbers, ages and sophistication of our young writers. We have three age groups and encourage participants to write about whatever they want to write.

We celebrate their achievements and we praise their efforts and award everyone and we take our time to provide feedback as well as workshops to help improve their work.
