The Location
Our work operates at scale, engaging over 1,000 beneficiaries each year and redistributing hundreds of thousands of donated items. This requires a site that supports both large-scale logistics and hands-on community activity.
The location provides HGV access for shipping containers, safe space for volunteers to sort and pack materials, and essential on-site parking and access routes to keep operations efficient.
With the long-standing support of Dollimore and Christie, major partners since 2016, this site offers the stability, accessibility, and capacity needed to expand our impact. It is the ideal foundation for our next phase of growth.

Why We’re Doing This
Demand for our services is growing every day. Each month, we receive 10 new enquiries, and over the past three years the volume of donated books has increased from 50,000 to 150,000 annually. Communities of all sizes are seeking our support to develop skills, strengthen teams, and achieve their goals. Expanding our space will allow us to meet this rising demand—delivering services across the UK and supplying libraries in Kenya—maximising both local and international impact.

Project Timeline
The expansion of Community Hub UK will be delivered in four strategic phases. Phase one, to be completed by October 2026, involves clearing the site and installing the first two of six containers: the larger “Beast” will serve as a versatile community space, while the smaller unit will manage the growing flow of donated books. Subsequent phases will continue the build, creating a fully operational hub that supports learning, collaboration, and large-scale community activity.

Our modular approach allows the Community Hub UK to grow one container at a time, paced by fundraising. Each container costs approximately £4,000, with conversion averaging £2,000, contributing to a total sustainable expansion of £100,000.
