At the heart of our charity are our UK Programmes—five unique initiatives designed to source and send books and bring learning, and opportunities to children and communities across the UK. From collecting, sorting and packing books and items to enabling children to complete their Duke of Edinburgh Awards, each programme opens the door to imagination, education, and connection.
Every year, thousands of individuals benefit from our work, whether it’s joining us at our facilities or working from home, utilising their skills or learning new ones, or gaining a sense of belonging. Together, these programmes embody our mission: to empower communities.

Book Packers
Every Wednesday and the occasional Saturday, volunteers and beneficiaries come together to organise, pack, and count donated books, pens, and more—turning gifts into learning tools that travel to children who need them most.
Arts Brigade
Our arts sessions turn creativity into impact. Participants enjoy expressing themselves creating simple art activities, completing examples and assembling art kits that make a real difference for children in Kenya.
Crafters Crews
Our crafters knit, crochet, and sew with heart. Every creation is made with love, knowing it will be cherished in Kenya. Along the way, they find joy, purpose, and the chance to connect with others who share their passion for making a difference.
Duke of Edinburgh
From book packing and storytelling to crafting and fundraising, our fun, hands-on activities are designed to engage DofE participants while building creativity. Participants develop confidence, gain valuable new skills, and experience the satisfaction of making a real difference in their community.
Corporate Volunteers
From solo participants to full staff teams, we deliver hands-on team-building experiences that inspire collaboration, strengthen connections, and create real-world impact. Our flexible team-building events can be delivered at your offices or at our site, adapt to your preferred timings and can be organised at short notice.
